We were introduced to a new fund-raising program called the Power Up! Program. When you sign up to be a natural gas customer of a Georgia gas marketer called Stream Energy (Georgia PSC Approved), they will pay our Post a monthly commission of $4 each and every month thereafter for the duration of the customer's relationship with Stream Energy.
This $4.00 is not an add-on to your bill!! To be part of this on-going fund raising effort for Post 316 all you need to do is go to Stream Power's web site below and select 'Enroll For Service'. But first check out the therm rates and you will be quite pleased. Go to: alp316.streampowerup.biz On home page click ENERGY and then click RESIDENTIAL RATES and review the current rates and options. If you are satisfied with the program go back and click ENROLL. You can also access the site by clicking Stream Energy found under Main Menu at top left of this page.
Please have a copy of your old gas bill handy because your personal information has to be entered exactly the same for this new service as it was for your old service. NOTE: Atlanta Gas Light will still be your gas provider so there will be NO risk of an interruption in your service during this transition. Those of you that are under a fixed rate may have to pay a penalty to switch. If this is not acceptable then your choice would be to wait until your fixed rate contract expires and then enroll in this new program. This offer is not limited to just our members but to ANYONE! Please have your family and friends sign up as well so that our Post will reap the benefits each and every month. Enroll in this program today and help your local American Legion Post achieve its fundraising goals. These moneys will be used in the general fund for veterans programs and projects. |

A great honor was bestowed upon one of our outstanding post members. The very prestigious award for LEGIONNAIRE OF THE YEAR was presented to CHARLES DENMARK, Chaplian of our post at our installation of officers on July 28, 2009. Since transferring to our post in late 2006 Charles has been quite active participating in many post and City of Woodstock special programs. He is most noted for chairing the Post Oratorical contest committee and taking care of the logistics in getting our contestant Leanne Livingstong to win her way all the way to the National finals. Charles is and will be a faithful and dedicated legionnaire and is well deserving of this prestigious award. CONGRATULATIONS FROM ALL US! Mayor Henriques and Councilman Bud Leonard proudly wore their Legion caps while riding in their respective vehicles. Here are some shots of the event: Newly elected Dept Cmdr Butch Adams flanked by George Wallace and our Post Cmdr and newly elected Dept Sr. Vice Cmdr Charlie Tucker
